Matt ArtPix will be at the Essex craft and design show at RHS Garden Hyde Hall! We went to the event as punters last year and it was really a great one. It is a fab day out, walking around the beautiful garden and seeing loads of fabulous artists! Fingers crossed the weather gets better...

Matt ArtPix's little report on the Betty Blue Eyes Vintage and Handmade fayre is now online HERE! Quite a few new designs were on show!

Note: all the photos below were taken from the Van Ash's website linked in the blog.
A young lady came to the shop on Friday; she mentioned that she was making jewellery, including some steampunk-inspired pieces. I told her to check out Rachel Van Asch's work, as some of it is steampunk inspired... And as I wasn't really concentrating, I missed one letter in the name...

Then I thought that a little blog on this very site and a link to her boutique would be completely relevant to the theme of The Curious Home...
Maybe one day the shop will be big enough to sell some of Ms Van Asch's pieces?

Rachel Van Asch was a founder member of the enchanting London classical/folk ensemble Mediaeval Baebes - I strongly recommend to go to one of their live shows, they are wonderful treats! - and used to design all their stage costumes.     Now based in  Stockholm, Sweden, Rachel has her own very successful design boutique and attends trade fairs, has appeared in countless design and lifestyle magazines, has been interior designer/decorator for some wonderful hotels...
Her creations are absolutely stunning: her work has a dreamy, elegant,  fantastical, edgy, unique quality... Van Asch sells "unique, original & handmade designer cushions, art, accessories and gifts".

So do go to her excellent website packed with images of her gorgeous creations:

I went to the shop this morning and took a few pictures of the shop, which I have now posted on the Gallery page

It really looks cosy down there...

More pictures to come later...

We were together at the festival, so each blog is a variation on the same acts, with loads of pictures! Hope you enjoy reading them...

Now onto the stock list!

Whilst setting up this lovely little website, this is the kind of surreal thing I had to go through: verify that I am indeed a human being, because obviously, I wasn't sure! It made me laugh!

We at The Curious Home had a fantastic time at Village Green on Saturday!       We will link our blogs about the event here in the next few days.

Matt ArtPix even got picked to throw money at the fabulous Lili La Scala

Matt ArtPix has done A LITTLE BLOG about The Curious Home, with lovely photos of the shop taken on the first week. The shop is pretty much a work in progress, and it will look different next time you visit!

Here we will post news about new stock in, events, photos and more. Please come again soon!
